Curriculum

Quality Curriculum

Our experienced staff are committed to ensuring your child has a caring, nurturing, and educational environment. All lead teachers have an associate or bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and assistant teachers have at minimum a child development associate certification.

We pride ourselves in providing a curriculum that focuses on the whole child and reflects an understanding of children as individuals. At Eastminster, we are utilizing the following curriculum and assessment tools in the classrooms. Additionally, our staff and teachers regularly participate in trainings and professional development to bring your child the best care and supervision.

Project Approach Curriculum

Children love to investigate and learn about the world around them. Project based learning enables teachers to guide children through in-depth investigations in topics that the children are directly interested in. Project Approach values children’s innate curiosity and questioning of their world around them, and allows teachers to build projects based on those interests.

Through Project Approach, children are able to participate and contribute to the classroom’s learning and their interests guide the progress of the project. Learning and teaching through Project Approach is very hands-on and interactive. Children are involved in the whole project, from planning, to implementing and then reflecting on what they’ve learned.

COR Advantage

COR Advantage is an observation based assessment tool for children birth through kindergarten. COR measures growth in all developmental domains through anecdotal records captured by the teachers throughout normal daily routines. COR Advantage measures 34 different items across the 8 major areas of growth and development:

  • Approaches to Learning
  • Social and Emotional Development
  • Physical Development and Health
  • Language, Literacy and Communication
  • Mathematics
  • Creative Arts
  • Science and Technology
  • Social Studies

Ages and Stages Questionnaires

Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) allows the teachers to gage what the parents/guardians are seeing in their child’s growth at home. ASQ is designed to specifically pinpoint developmental progress and catch delays early in young children. ASQ is used from birth through age 6.
